We are currently seeking a Therapeutic Account Executive/Specialty Sales Representative (Ophthalmology).

Major accountabilities:

  • Meet sales and performance targets across the portfolio through development of in-depth understanding of the therapy area, brand positioning, key competitors, and customer priorities
  • Build winning sales plan based on identifying opportunities and threats within key accounts
  • Develop strong relationships and explore new ways of working with key customers to aximize 
potential of the Aequus portfolio and continually enhance customer perceptions of Aequus
  • Share knowledge, insights and skills within the Aequus team to aximize success across the 
  • Organise and execute medical education events in line with commercial priorities
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting of activity (call logs) and insights
  • Conduct all activities professionally and in strict accordance with compliance requirements and 
Aequus’ ethical guidelines

Job Requirements

Experience and education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, or business-related fields
  • Minimum of 3 years of specialty sales experience within the pharmaceutical industry required; ophthalmology sales experience an advantage
  • Other sales experience, an asset

    • Strategic thinking and planning skills: demonstrates holistic understanding of market & competition; maintains long-term view; able to develop and execute agreed account plans.
    • Strong presentation, communication & partnering skills: ability to work with external purchasing customers and to achieve goals through cross-functional working
    • Therapeutic understanding: is able to converse with KOL’s with sufficient clinical knowledge to provide safe and effective guidance on the portfolio to exceed sales targets
    • Commercial awareness: understands payer and hospital purchasing environment; able to assess and take appropriate commercial risks
    • Self-motivated, disciplined and results focussed
    • Numerate and analytical: able to manipulate and interpret information critically to utilise as a basis for decision making.
    • Resilience: able to manage through uncertainty and ambiguity; persists in the face of adversity; tenacious in pursuit of goals.
